How do I get started?
Set up your company profile once, your logo, colours, SEAI registration and hardware catalogue, then run your first assessment. Most installers are live within 30 minutes of subscribing.
How do I run an assessment?
The guided eight-step flow takes you from the customer eircode through energy, roof, panels, inverter and battery, add-ons and quotation, to a branded proposal. On-screen help walks you through each step.
How does the SEAI grant calculation work?
Caolú calculates the SEAI grant automatically on every assessment from the system size: €700/kWp on the first 2 kWp plus €200/kWp up to 4 kWp, capped at €1,800. The quote shows the full cost, the grant and the net to the customer. Eligibility (property built and occupied before 2021, and an SEAI-registered installer) is checked automatically.
What does the Live Compass do?
The Live Compass uses your phone's gyroscope to read the roof orientation on site. Hold the phone upright, point the top edge at the roof face, and lock it when the needle settles. For remote quotes, use Map mode instead and set the orientation from the satellite image.
How does the AI follow-up work?
After each assessment, Caolú drafts a personalised follow-up message, the customer's name, their system size, their projected savings, the SEAI grant and the net cost, ready to send in minutes rather than days.
Can I take a deposit at the point of sale?
Yes. On the quotation step you can generate a payment link and send it to the customer by email or SMS, so you can take a deposit there and then.
What is NC6/NC7 and how does Caolú handle it?
NC6 and NC7 are the ESB Networks notifications for connecting to the grid. NC6 covers single-phase systems up to 6 kWp; above that needs an NC7 mini-generation notification. Caolú flags the correct one automatically on every assessment based on the system size, so you submit the right notification before commissioning.
What is the CEG export rate and how is it calculated?
The Clean Export Guarantee (CEG) pays the homeowner for surplus solar exported to the grid. In 2026 rates range from about 15c to 32c per kWh depending on the supplier. Caolú applies the current supplier rate automatically and accounts for the €400 annual tax-free export allowance.
Why does each installer need their own SEAI user number?
SEAI grant applications identify the specific registered installer who did the work, so a company-level number is not enough. Each installer enters their own SEAI user number in their profile, and Caolú references it automatically on their assessments.
Where is my data stored?
On EU servers in Frankfurt, GDPR compliant by design, with bank details encrypted. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Caolú is never in the money flow.
How do I reset my password?
Go to account.caolu.ie and choose Forgot Password to get a reset link by email. If you are fully locked out or cannot access your email, email support@caolu.ie and we will help directly.
How fast do you respond?
Support is handled directly by the team that builds the product. Most questions are answered within one business day during Irish business hours.
